Many people put off the decision to create a website because they don't know what to expect. Will it be complicated? Do I need to prepare a lot of materials? How long will it take? This article walks you through the entire process from start to finish.
Step 1 — First enquiry
Everything starts with a short message. You fill in the contact form or write directly by email — describe what your business does and what you need. You don't have to know everything — a general idea is enough.
Within 1–2 business days, I'll get back to you with questions and an initial quote.
Step 2 — Brief and direction
If we decide to work together, we fill in a short brief. It covers a few questions about:
- The goal of the site and your target audience
- Visual style (do you have a logo? What colours do you like?)
- Inspiration — websites you find appealing
- Features you need
The brief usually takes 20–30 minutes and gives me everything I need to get started.
Step 3 — Design and development
Based on the brief, I create the website design. First, I show you the layout as a mockup or finished design — you can give feedback and request changes.
Once the design is approved, I move on to coding. I build the site in WordPress or Next.js, ensuring it's responsive, fast, and SEO-optimised.
Step 4 — Testing and revisions
Before launch, I test the site across different devices and browsers. You also get time to review everything and flag any changes.
The standard package includes two rounds of revisions.
Step 5 — Launch and handover
The site goes live on your hosting, or I set it up for you. I show you how to use the admin panel (if it's WordPress) and how to make basic changes.
I also provide brief documentation and am happy to answer any questions.
How long does the whole process take?
A standard project takes 7–14 working days from design approval. The timeline depends on the complexity of the site and how quickly you respond to my questions.
What do you need to prepare?
- Content for the site (texts, service descriptions) — I can help you shape them
- Photos or access to a stock photo library
- Logo (if you have one)
- Company details for the footer and contact section
The whole process is simple and stress-free — I'm here to help you at every stage.
